Engagement opportunities. Lawyers and law offices looking to engage in personal or community sustainability activities such as tree plantings or waste reduction can join one of the Section’s volunteer events or join the SFS Team for the annual EcoChallenge

Study groups. Over the Section’s 10-year history, several work groups have been formed with lawyers and other practitioners on a variety of topics including moving towards paperless courts, protecting the rights of future generations through an office of legal guardian, and a climate change task force.

Advancing the law. The Section explores the appropriate role of the law and the legal profession in protecting the rights and opportunities of future generations. Where appropriate, the Section works to identify law improvements together with the Oregon State Bar public affairs committee.

The Section welcomes new members. If you would like to get involved in one of the Section’s committees, please contact us!
